Claude Code
HTTP MCP config and the claude mcp add line.
Claude Code speaks HTTP. The flag order is --transport http, then the name, then the URL. Without the bearer header the endpoint returns 401.
claude mcp add --transport http recruitmcp https://mcp.recruitmcp.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $RECRUITMCP_KEY"
Or write .mcp.json in the project (or pass the same object to claude mcp add-json). type may be http or streamable-http. Both mean this server.

"mcpServers": {
"recruitmcp": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://mcp.recruitmcp.com/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer rmcp_live_..."
}
}
}
}
Replace rmcp_live_... with the key from POST /v1/workspaces. An older rapi_live_... key still works. The header value must be Bearer, a space, and the key.
On this machine the URL is http://127.0.0.1:43123/mcp. The header stays the same.
Add ?toolsets=sourcing,outreach,advanced to the URL for raw search and lookups. ?toolsets=all is the same list. To work inside a customer, add RecruitMCP-Customer next to Authorization. Header names are case-insensitive. A key bound to a customer always stays inside that customer.
Then ask Claude to call get_guide and to start a search with your job description. It shows the summary and the estimate before it spends anything. The tools/list check is the script we run against the server.
